In January Beth, Dave, Sarah, Ben and I went on a camping trip to Waratah Bay. Our campsite was located at the back of the main area so it was way quieter. We also scored a campsite with a table which we thought was pretty awesome. The small tent you see here, slept sarah, beth and I and the big tent was our food tent-not sure how the food managed to get the bigger tent... and dave and ben had swags.

We decided to try some fishing on the beach at Waratah Bay, we didn't last long though because it was absolutely freezing!!

Our goal for this trip was to find the best spear fishing spots the prom could offer. This place I can't remember what is was called, was about a 1.5km walk from the car and was actually really dodgey. It was only knee deep for miles, so we had no luck here but still spent the afternoon lying in the sun on the little island we were walking out too.

Day 3: We gained some visitors and went on a massive 5km hike through the prom to find this awesome spear fishing spot we had heard about. I say massive 5km hike it was so hilly as and I was only wearing my pink thongs, no walking shoes and we were all carrying heaps of gear. Fishing rods, spear fishing guns, an esky-full of ice, food, blow boat + pump, cameras, wetsuits, bathers, food, 2 weight belts, water etc...we had a lot of stuff!! This spot was pretty good, however it involved us climbing down the side of a cliff and jumping over gaps in rocks...which was slightly scary

We found a secluded beach not too far away from Squeaky Beach, which we thought would be perfect for spear fishing and it was only a 1.5km walk from the car!

We also gained some more visitors!

This spot was amazing, we had our own private beach and it was full of fish!!

The only downside to accessing our beach was that it was literally a 100m vertical drop.

Day 6: We headed back down to our new favourite spot, and spent our last day spear fishing and relaxing. I even wet suited up and went snorkelling! There was heaps of fish to see, and some were massive! ...I didn't try spear fishing I was too worried that I would lose the spear or something!
We are defintely hoping to go back to Waratah bay/The Prom some time later this year.

Instead of driving on the road to Robe a town 50km above Beachport we drove along the 4wd tracks along the beach and in the sand dunes. It was probably one of the highlights of the trip!

Claire, Danielle and I flew up to Sydney for the weekend to visit Jemma!
It was my first time on an aeroplane and my first time to Sydney, so I was pretty excited about the whole thing! We were able to stay at Jemma's house which is really big as she shares with 6 other girls. The weather was soo nice! It was 25 degrees on Sunday, which was lovely coming from 15 degree days in Melbourne!
We spent Saturday walking around Darling harbour and catching ferries to Manly where we wandered around the streets and the beach. On Sunday we went to Hillsong and then to Bondi. We spent time wandering around the market, lying on the beach and doing some shopping!
The weekend was so much fun and a good time to just catch up with everyone! I really like Sydney, apart from the roads-they were just crazy, and I definitely wouldn't mind going back up!

Diami's 2nd Birthday!

For Diami's 2nd birthday we headed down to the Melbourne Zoo! Jemma even came down from Sydney for the occasion! I'm pretty sure Diami enjoyed the day very much, his favourite animals being the ducks!! lol It was a cold winter's day but thankfully it did not rain! Favourite animals for the day would have to be the giraffes, lions (cause they fought each other lol), the otters and the meer cats!

To celebrate Lauren's 21st Birthday we went to the Thai restaurant for dinner which was very yummy! We also organised a surprise cake for Lauren but I think we were all very surprised when loud birthday music started playing from the restaurants speakers, and then the lit cake was brought out very much to Lauren's embarrassment! We also all put money in to buy Lauren a pair of brown leather boots for her birthday!! ...pretty good b'day present if you ask me!! haha

She also had to design some advertising for the dress and thats where I came in! I asked my friend from school to be the model and we all went around Melbourne for the afternoon taking lots of photos, not realising that we actually only needed two! haha ohwelll....it was lots of fun!

The Wedding Catering Event of the Year!!

The Team!

Sharon and I spent hours making the Creme Brulee's!! I cracked and seperated 5 dozen eggs with my hands and then we stirred and for ages....waited for ages....and then had to glaze the tops which was a long process involving heating a spoon up on the stove!

Sharon, Michael, Sarah and I spent many hours in the kitchen preparing food for the a wedding which was held in a beer brewery in Richmond. It was basically a warehouse with a bar at the front of it! There was no kitchen so we had to bring everything, including tables, wash tubs, the oven, plus everything else we needed to cook, clean and serve with!
Everything ran very successfully and we had no dramas!! There was 14 mains and 4 desserts to be served (i think!) and everything was miniature! We had mini baked potatoes, to small serves of fish and chips and bite sized sticky date puddings! I'm positively sure that none of the guests left the wedding still hungy!

V8 Cafe & Music Night

We organised a cafe & music night for V8 our youth group a few weeks ago. We asked Coby Demaria to come and play for us and also allowed the kids to have a go aswell, as there are a lot of talented guys and girls out there! Kassie also made pancakes to order which were very very yummy! It was a really good night so I'm pretty sure we'll organise another one later in the year!

Hen's Weekend

The weekend before Danielle's wedding, the bridesmaid's organised a Hen's Weekend for Danielle.
On the Friday night we stayed over at Michaela's house and relaxed for the evening. On Saturday morning we went down to the Peninsual Hot Springs for breakfast and a morning of lazing about in the warm baths. All the relaxing made us very tired so in the afternoon a few of the girls (including danielle) had a 'nana nap' for a few hours! On the Saturday night we headed out to Bel's house and then went out to the Elephant and Wheelbarrow in St.Kilda for a night of dancing! Then on Sunday afternoon we enjoyed a picnic and games at the Sherbrooke Picnic Grounds.
The whole weekend was a surprise for Danielle and I'm pretty sure she loved it very much!

Churchill Island is the perfect place for a festival. What better way is there to spend an afternoon but listening to great music (Josh Pyke + Pete Murray) while enjoying the beautiful scenery. I would like to say that there was a nice sea breeze also however it was more of a breeze of cigarette smok! I really don't understand these hippy/organic people that smoke. How can they not realise that what they are smoking is not good for them??
Anyways I found it really hard to take good photos of the stage as the lighting was really bad! I struggled a lot to find the right settings, mostly I was just guessing but in the end thankfully I managed to get a few alright shots.

Polarizing Filter

I bought a polarizing filter off ebay last week and it was very very cheap compared to the ones you buy in the shops!! However, it works fine!! So I thought I'd put some photos up of the comparision of effects you can get when using the filter. The photos I've uploaded show the most clear difference of a photo with and without the filter. It's really quite interesting actually!

When I stayed with Tracey at Remo she was looking after Diami for a few days. Diami wasn't very well as he had a cold and bad cough and he became very clingy to Tracey, she basically had an attachment and whenever she left Diami's eyesight he would start calliing out 'mama MAMMA' and begin crying for her! He was on an emotional roller-coaster that week!

Fishing

Fishing with the Demaria's and Burges at some place that I can't quite remember the name of right now! It was somewhere past Phillip Island though and at the end of an inlet which took forever to walk too! It was an extremely windy spot and we resorted to wearing jumpers.
However it was lots of fun and although lots of seaweed was caught and lots of bait disappeared, 5 small fish managed to be caught! I think Claire caught 3 of them! I did attempt to fish however I didn't have much luck as I was unable to get my line very far and then I always managed to lose my bait...ohwell!

Every year for the last few years Jess, Sarah, Tia, Hannah and I organise some games or presents that involve things from the Op Shop. This year we bought random things from the Op Shop and put all the family into teams. Each team had to make up an ad like an infomercial. They were all clever and very funny. We also played singstar and our own version of 'don't forgert the lyrics'.

Church hosted a variety night '12 nights before christmas!'
In which the church hall was transformed! Sharon and Stephen along with the rest of their team came up with a really awesome idea in which the entrance to the stage was made into an art gallery hallway hosting artworks depicting a line from the song '12 days of christmas'. It's hard to explain, but just look at the photos!
Each table had a paper table cloth and crayons which allowed the table members to decorate their table. This year my table consisted of Dogga, Danielle, Mel, Wendy and Amanda. We decided to theme our artworks with the obvious theme of '12 days of Christmas' and I'm pretty sure it was my 5 golden rings that made us the winners of the table top decorating competition!! haha
Actually I have to give full credit to everyone else especially Mel her partridge in a pear tree was amazing!!
I probably should also mention that all the acts were really good! I loved Coby, Claire's and Stephens Ode to John Farnham that was hilarious, as well as Mel's kazoo song thing...lol

Danielle, Matt and I all had our 'Canon 40D's present at Ryans party, with Matt insisting that we all copied him in getting our cameras. However how can I be blamed for copying when I was given the camera for my birthday??!! We also had a small competition involving taking the best photos of Ryan blowing out his candles. A winner was never decided however I'm sure there will be plenty more of these 'competions' to come!

Book Burning Bonfire!!

To end the year some of my friends decided to have a book burning bonfire, where were all able to bring our practice exams, note books, old text books and chuck them onto the bonfire and watch all our hardwork be burned into nothing!!
It was a lot of fun and some people really got into throwing all their work in that had taken so much effort! But seriously what were we going to do with all of it?!

Well on the 4th of October 118 riders set out from Pakenham to Sale on their bikes!!
The weather was quite cool with a few showers in the early morning however all the riders did a fantastic job! I'm always amazed by the 'elite' riders making it to Sale in 4-5 hours and even more impressed with those people that don't train or ride very often making it most of the way or even all of the way!!!
Sharon asked Danielle and I to take some shots of the day and we definitely did! In the morning when Danielle was registering people I had too Canon 40d's around my neck and a digital camcorder in my hand as Dogga had to work and therefore couldn't film the day! So I was busy!

This year Dad and Aaron both rode, however they had a lot of mechanical problems. Aaron's front tyre tube had 3 punctures, the chain and gears fall off or something and then it wasn't fixed properly so it had to be fixed again and dad also had his actual tyre punctued. Which meant he had to get on 'the bus of shame' as he called it before the ride!! That happened 30km out of Taralgon so at the lunch break he was able to fix it and continue to ride to Sale. Aaron also made it all the way but claims he's not doing it next year!!

All in all it was a fun day but very tiring....even though I wasn't riding! So I'm sure everyone else is exhausted too!

Last week I spent the day with some of my cousins. Sarah, Hannah and I headed down to Jess and Chris' new house in Emerald. We had lots of fun making gingerbread men, having a picnic lunch at Emerald Lake Park, having a coffee at a cafe in Belgrave and making movies! It was good to catch up with them as we don't get to see each other that often but when we do it's always lots of fun!

V8 Camp

Well most of you have probably by now seen some of the photos on facebook from our the V8 camp. But just in case you didn't know V8 the youth group of the church went on a camp to a place in Gembrook. It was lots of fun and I'm pretty sure all the kids enjoyed themselves! Anyways it provided me a very good oppurtunity to take some photos in all different... 'conditions'! Which was good! I will admit I'm not that happy with most of the photos I took as my camera settings just weren't quite right, but its so hard to quickly adjust all the camera settings and still try and get a good shot! Ohwell I'll learn! Anyways here are some more photos!

My school had cultural day on Thursday, which is a day where all the houses verse one another in 'cultural' activities such as; cooking, singing, playing instruments & chess, theatre sports ect... And they also had the staff/student footy match going. Well turning 18 was definitely the best birthday yet!!!
...I gratefully received a car from my parents and an awesome Canon 40D from family and friends!!
So I decieded that I would make a blog so that I can upload some of my photos for people to see.
I would like to say that I really haven't had chance to use my camera so I still have lots to learn! But I'm thinking that it will be very interesting to follow my photography journey! Hopefully I will be able to look back at these photos to see how much I have improved!
If you have any tips for me, let me know!!
Anyways...that is all as I should really be sleeping!
